What To Do in a Time of Barrenness

Occasionally, men and women enter tough seasons and experience barrenness. While much should be carried out, nothing seems to get off the ground. What does one do during a challenging period like this?

I don’t have all the answers, but one fact has become evident. I’ve learned, in the wondrous presence of God, impossible things come to life.

I’ve been changed by what the Lord announced centuries ago through his prophet:

“Sing, O childless woman,

you who have never given birth!

Break into loud and joyful song, O Jerusalem,

you who have never been in labor.

For the desolate woman now has more children

than the woman who lives with her husband,”

says the Lord” (Isaiah 54:1).

When we commune with the Lord in his glorious presence, barren things spring to life. When we encounter his glory, there will be no more desolation.

If you’re struggling in this season of life, I’d invite you re-encounter heaven’s fruitfulness. I’ve found that wondrous things are birthed in the presence of God
